Broken harddrive fixable?

looks like your only choice is a HD RECOVERY... the humming sound could be the platters reader not being able to move onto the platter! I wouldnt recommend you try to repair it yourself... hds are very difficult to fix... it would void your warranty if its still valid, and there is a possibility you could seriously damage the HD because if you get the platter full of dust then the HD will no longer be salvagable because it will be permenately damaged beyond repair! so your only choice is HD recovery!
