What is the charge for petty larceny. I found a ipod and they are charging me with petty larceny.?

I found a ipod at my school and school security came up to me ask for the ipod checked it out and it came back stolen. They had police come get me for having stolen property. now i have court tomorrow and don't know if i will be kicked out of school.
