Does anyone feel this way about the PS3 too?

I dont own one, so i ask: didnt they discontinue the ps3 with 4 ports, _GBs of memory, and full backwards compatibility? And for what, to lower the price by only $100?! I think that seems like a big trade off for meager benefits. But dont you feel like its a bad trade off? (I dont wanna have to buy a new ps2 AND a ps3!)
